Recent Virginia Building Code Updates
5/3/11 – TOB - Effective immediately – in accordance with Section M2105.1 of the 2006 IRCGround Source Heat Pump System Loop Piping - testing
The assembled loop system shall be pressure tested with water at 100 psi for 30 minutes with no observed leaksbefore connection (header) trenches are backfilled. The test shall be witnessed by the Town of Blacksburg’s Building Inspectors.

The files are read only and do not allow printing but this should be a good resource for quick reference when there is not a code book handy. They have not posted the 2009 Virginia Residential Code yet but it should be up shortly.

3/17/11 – Montgomery County – Effective March 1, 2011, if your project is located in a shrink/swell area as defined by the Montgomery County GIS department, this dept. will require a report of soil analysis.

This pipe is mostly used for water service piping underground.
